  Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chang Shuai was 31 years old. For his belief in Falun Gong he had to do hard labour in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp. Chang Shuai refused to write the "three statements" and he held several hunger strikes to protest the persecution. The vicious guards removed Chang's clothes and used electrical batons to shock him for over thirty minutes. They did not stop until the electric batons ran out of battery power.

• Mr. Fan Zhongzhuang Was Abducted and Persecuted

  Mr. Fang Zhongzhuang was interrogated for five consecutive days in a detention centre and brutally tortured just because of his belief in Falun Dafa. He was sent to hospital in a coma, had a compound fracture of the cervical spine, and injuries and wounds covered his entire body. The doctor stated that he was dying. He is still bedridden.

• Practitioner Ms. Li Xiumin Diagnosed With Tumour; Calling for Her Immediate Release on Medical Parole

  Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiumin has been detained in Shijiazhuang City Labour Camp for more than 18 months. She has recently been diagnosed with breast hyperplasia and an uterine tumour, a medical condition in all likelihood caused by maltreatment under the persecution. The uterine tumour measures about 1.2 inches in diameter. The doctor urged her to immediately undergo surgery. She also suffers from retinitis. Her family is truly concerned for her. Retinitis can result in loss of eyesight if left untreated. We urgently call for the release of Li Xiumin on medical parole.

• Panjin City National Security Police Use Perjury to Heavily Sentence Falun Gong Practitioners

  On September 12th, 2005, Panjin City's Xinglongtai Court held a secret hearing to levy criminal charges against Mr. Xin Minduo and his wife for their belief in Falun Gong. Three days later, on the afternoon of September 15th, the court handed 13 year and 12 year prison terms to Mr. Xin and his wife, respectively. Their family members did not find out about this until September 20th, 2005, from a private source. There is no evidence of their "crime." The evil Communist regime's practice prevailed, as usual: arrest first, then fabricate "evidence."

• Persecution Reports from Yang'ai Forced Labour Camp in Guizhou Province

  Practitioner Ms. Wang Shanchun is currently being held in the Yang'ai Forced Labour Camp where she is being tortured. When Ms. Wang was held in Anshun City, she was handcuffed to the torture bed for 33 days. The wound on her back that resulted from repeated beatings started to rot and grow maggots. She was restrained on the torture bed with both handcuffs and shackles, and the guards brutally force-fed her. She was forced to urinate and defecate in her clothes.

  "In December, 2002, after a few months of being on a hunger strike, guards tied up my waist for a few hours, handcuffed both of my hands on my back, and tied both of my legs in the double lotus position for several hours continuously. As the time period was very long, my bones and muscles became excruciatingly painful - so painful that I screamed out loudly and lost consciousness. Policeman Zhang Chunguang shocked me with an electric baton so severely that my heart was twisting, both of my legs trembled, and I was dizzy. The pain was so bad that it seemed my heart had torn apart, while the police was laughing wholeheartedly."

• Ms. Wang Xiuxia Died as a Result of Torture at Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison

  After nearly four years of brutal torture at the Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison, Ms. Wang Xiuxia, a Falun Gong practitioner passed away on January 24th, 2006 at age 41. While detained, she was beaten, forced to sleep on cement floors, soaked with a dozen buckets of cold water, and forced to work overtime performing slave labour. In December 2005, when she was emaciated, swollen in many places, and near death, the prison released her to her family. She died soon afterwards.

  On July 20th, 1999, the wicked Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong. That date marked the end of our peaceful life. In the past six years, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners, including myself, have experienced unprecedented cruel persecution only because we persisted in our belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and being good people. Our families were broken up, and many of us were thrown into prison. I was detained 18 times in violation of the Chinese constitution, and my family was fined 43,500 yuan. I recently broke free from the latest incarceration and cannot put into words the amount of suffering I have gone through.

• 74-Year-Old Ms. Fan Defang Prosecuted in Chongqing City

  Police arrested Ms. Fan Defang, a 74-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Chongqing City, and practitioner Ms. Yuan Suxian on January 28th, 2005. Ms. Yuan Suxian was tortured to death, and Ms. Fan Defang was illegally prosecuted. Ms. Fan Defang and Ms. Yuan had picked up several Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution off the ground and gave them to passers-by. They were arrested. Ms. Fan was bedridden the entire time she remained in the detention centre. Police were worried that Ms. Fan would die in the detention centre, so they told her family to take her home with the caveat that she would be tried later.

• Five Practitioners from Xinjiang, Liaoning and Hebei Provinces and Beijing Persecuted to Death

  Mr. Cui Fenglin, 49 years old, was a worker in the branch factory of the Jinzhou Heavy Machinery Plant in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. He started practising Falun Gong in June 1995 and went twice to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. He was detained and sentenced to one and a half years in the Dalian Labour Camp. He was subjected to inhuman treatment there, punitively force-fed several times and persecuted by collaborators. He was extremely weak at the time of his release. In mid-January 2005, he started to vomit anything he ate and he could not defecate. He passed away on December 13th, 2005.

• 55-Year-Old Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms Zhang Zhunli Tortured to Death in Henan Province

  On January 13th, 2006, another brutal case of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners occurred in Henan Province. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhunli, 55, was arrested by the Shan County National Security Team and brutally tortured to death that same day. The police were afraid of being held responsible, so they threw Ms. Zhang out of a fourth-floor window, creating a cover-up to claim that Ms. Zhang committed suicide. After that, they sent Ms. Zhang's body to the hospital for emergency treatment. In fact, Ms. Zhang was dead well before arriving at the hospital.

  In August 2003, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Guoan, 54, was arrested and sent to the No. 3 Forced Labour Camp in Henan Province. The head of Team No. 1, Jia, kept cursing the founder of Falun Dafa while using the "rope tying" method on Zhao Guoan. He snarled, "Let me see how long you can endure this. Nothing can make me believe that you will not write the "three statements"! At the end of December of the same year, he was tortured to death by Jia Zhigang and other policemen because they could not "transform" him.

• Baoding City Party Members Persecute Dafa Practitioners Over TV Interception Incident in Tianjin

  Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities in Baoding City, Hebei Province plotted to hold an illegal trial of Dafa practitioners Wei Haiwu, Liu Yongwang, Zhang Rongjie and Zhi Zhanmin at the Baoding City Xinshi District's Court at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17th. These Dafa practitioners were arrested last August on the grounds of the TV interception incident in Tianjin. Amongst these practitioners, Liu Yongwang has been persecuted most brutally and is currently on the brink of death.

• Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wang Xinbo from Zibo City Passes Away Due to Persecution

  Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Xinbo was sentenced to 13 years in prison. He was released at the brink of death. In October 2005 the brutal captors deprived him of sleep for four days and four nights in order to "reform" him [force him give up his belief]. More than ten abusers took turns beating him. In order to resist the persecution, Wang Xinbo didn't eat or drink for four days. When he lost consciousness and showed signs of whole-body oedema. Soon after Wang Xinbo went home. He passed away on February 10th, 2006.
